As one of the largest medical institution in Russia and Europe, currently more than 9200 students are enrolling in almost 115 different academic departments in this university. It is a state university. It is currently under the authority of the ministry of Health and social development of the Russian Federation.
DAGESTAN STATE MEDICAL UNIVERSITY

It was founded in 1758 as medical faculty of imperial Moscow University as the first medical school in Russia. It is the top medical state university in Russia. For over two centuries has been a pioneer in the Russian health care system. A lot of outstanding physicians and scientists who contributed significantly to the progress in medicine, worked at the university. It is considered as one of the best and largest teaching hospitals in Europe. Currently there are 19030 students from 83 world countries.
